Concentration
For my APSA concentration idea, I want to illustrate on the idea of mythical creature, however, I don't want the creatures to be so realistic or fierce. Instead, my idea is more aiming at cartoony fairy tale style. Meaning that it would be more child like etc.

Jimmy is a surreal artist, who draw a lot of cartoony arts based on the modern social status, which I think are really impressive, and I like them for thier use of color and lines. The shapes and forms are also fun to look at, the pictures themselves always express certain stories and reveal the reality and truth to the specific event being describe, somehow less militant.

Artist:Eiichiro Oda(尾田榮一郎)
Piece: One Piece
I like Eiichiro Oda's comic style, for they are surreal and really interesting to look at the same time. I enjoy looking at his colored pieces, due to the fact that it is always contrasting and valued in a special perspective. I think it is a great chance to learn value technique from this artist, since he's always capable of drawing cloth and more. His style always shocks me, for it is always beyond one's imagination.

Artist: Takeshi Obata(小畑健)
Piece: Hello Baby(up), The Shadow of a Interrogator(down)
Piece: Hello Baby(up), The Shadow of a Interrogator(down)
Takeshi Obata is a comic author and novel writer, whose art works has a lot of modern style figure. To me, he would be the most influential artist to my work, for I tempt to imitate his figure most of the time, and enjoy looking at his art, rather than reading them. His skills are really realistic, and get an interesting perspective towards face. Apart from his drawing career, his painting are less cartoony than these two, but sadly I cannot download any pictures from his Japanese Blog.

Artist: Roy Lichtenstein
Piece: Whaam!
I like Roy Lichtenstein a lot, due to his arts are based on comics, which also deliver several messages. And it is always interesting to look at these pieces, for they are flat, however, still get a sence of value, and somehow contrasting due to the 'specific' object mentioned in his titles. My style is influenced by him since entering middle school, for I like to draw similar kinds of flame and cloud etc.
